Test Pattern

The Feature Artist Hour, Fridays 6-7 pm
Every week a different ZBC DJ programs a one hour "Test Pattern" of music on a specific artist, band, label or scene. The Test Pattern format focuses the extraordinary and diverse talents of the Z's DJs in just one area for a whole hour, presenting an exciting and perhaps hard to find selection from the discography including rarities, live cuts, b-sides and other unexpected items.

Ointment At Rivergods

OINTMENT, Your Fix for New Music

Ointment, Your Fix for New Music, is a monthly event for all of you independent rock music aficionados, or fans to be!

The event is held the second Thursday of every month and features a review of the 20 most played songs from the previous month. WZBC guest DJ’s also spin their favorite material before and after the countdown. The event is hosted by Alexandra of Melody du Jour, Fridays 7-10am and held at River Gods in Central Square.

“The independent rock music is frequently perceived as a closed and elitist circle. Our goal is to share it all with a focus on new material! From that came the idea of Ointment, i.e. the top 20. Be ready for an eclectic mix of rock nouveau!” Reports Alexandra, the host of Ointment. She adds, “The spirit of this event is also social in the sense that we want to bring people who have the same passion together.”

Ryan Aurori, current General Manager at WZBC and a senior at Boston College says, “It is very difficult to keep up with new independent music releases. There are so many of them every month, it is overwhelming. So we thought we would make it easier for the music lovers in the Boston area.”

River Gods is located at 125 River St., Cambridge, MA. Entrance is 21+ . Free.
